Social Programme

We have put together a list of recommended restaurants, bars and pubs in Huddersfield. These can be found along with a map of the key locations for the conference here: IAFPA 2018: Huddersfield Map.

The welcome reception will be held at Lawrence Batley Theatre on Sunday evening from 6pm-9pm.

On Monday evening we will host a free excursion to the Heritage Quay.  The Heritage Quay is the official archive for the University of Huddersfield, and is located on campus.

The role of HQ is “to collect and secure the future of archives, both digital and physical, to preserve them for generations to come, making them as accessible and available as possible.”

Speaking Yorkshire: Join Dave Smith from the University Archives at Heritage Quay to explore the Huddersfield and Yorkshire dialects past and present, with the help of their collections. The perfect way to finish a day of hard ‘weft‘.

The conference dinner will be held at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Tuesday evening.
